  • Learn about different types of trauma that many LGBTQ+ community members may be recovering from & how they affect the brain, body, nervous system, & spiritLearn

  • Develop practical tools for how to support clients when experiencing the affects of trauma

  • Encourage community care & self-care when supporting LGBTQ+ clients to process vicarious secondary trauma

John Hanig

John Hanig, LMFT #97209 (preferred pronouns: they/them) has provided person-centered & harm reduction individual psychotherapy & couples counseling to LGBTQ+ adolescents & adults since 2013 after receiving an MA in Counseling Psychology with a ​​concentration in Expressive Arts Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco. They have worked in various harm reduction community mental health settings, including substance use counseling at San Francisco AIDS Foundation's Stonewall Project, residential counseling at Larkin Street Youth Service's transitional aged youth homeless shelter, and clinical case management at Mission Neighborhood

Health Center's Homeless Resource Center and HIV clinic. They currently work in private practice in San Francisco's Mission District, providing services in English, Spanish, & Brazilian Portuguese, as well as offering trainings for healthcare providers & legal advocates to provide trauma-informed care to the LGBTQ+ community. Their mission is to advocate & support ALL members of the LGBTQ+ community with accessing psychological healthcare that affirms their sexual orientation & gender identity, including all immigration statuses, socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities, ages, & physical/mental disabilities.

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY

We will refund 100% of the fee to participants if we are notified the cancellation before the course start day. The refund will be made via our PayPal or Stripe, or by the organization’s check. Full refund will be made after 4-5 business days. If the course has already taken place, we will not accept any refunds.

GRIEVANCES

Blue Humming Therapy seeks to ensure the educational course for every person and to make every attempt to resolve grievances in a fair manner. Please submit a written grievance to Blue Humming Therapy. Grievances will initially be directed to the training instructor. Grievances would receive, to the best of our ability, corrective action in order to prevent further problems.
